Operator Jobs description

An operator is primarily responsible for unloading and loading customer product, scanning product, and placing it correctly in warehouse and maintaining a safe and clean work area. An operator promotes a safe work environment through personal actions, identify any safety concerns as well as cost saving opportunities; loads and unloads trucks and railcars and moves products onto pallet in correct position, scans product and moves to loading area and checks for accuracy and placement. An operator directs product to correct area in warehouse, packs product using shrink wrap and attaches correct labels to product. An operator has to move products safely using forklift, pallet jack or dock loader, clear work area of loose wood and plastic, and sweep work area as needed. An operator takes inventory of product as needed, label, sort, wrap, and tie product.
An operator requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum one year work experience in a relevant job or manufacturing environment or equivalent and must have skills in the operation of data entry equipment. An operator should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and co-workers. An operator must have ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and have proficiency in the use of machines.
