Nursing Assistant Jobs description
A nursing assistant job involves daily routine nursing care in accordance with established nursing care procedures as directed by supervisors. A nursing assistant performs routine resident care duties delegated by the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or licensed therapist to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents. A nursing assistant develops and maintains a good working relationship with inter-departmental personnel; attends designated nursing meetings as scheduled, assists the resident with the restorative nursing program including passive and active range of motion, ambulation with appropriate assistive devices. A nursing assistant performs services in compliance with all state and federal regulations, policies and procedures of the facility, follows all shift routines, policy and procedures regarding accurate performance of vital signs, weights, etc. A nursing assistant assists residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, bed mobility, toileting and feeding, maintains sanitary conditions in common areas.A nursing assistant requires a high school graduate or equivalent degree. A nursing assistant must have ability to understand and follow work assignments. A nursing assistant should have adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of resident care responsibilities as lifting and moving residents.
