Assistant Jobs are one of the largest job categories in any city as well in the United States. For people with a general educational background and for people looking for a career change or even just a temporary job, administrative jobs are the easiest to get.Most assistant jobs require the candidate to have at least a high school diploma and being able to assist in the day-to-day office work. With the computerization of the workplace, today administrative assistants are expected to know how to use popular desktop applications like MS Office. But their main work has remained unchanged for many years. It includes scheduling meetings and appointments, organizing and maintaining records in either paper or electronic formats, sending the relevant information to the right person in various departments and also taking care of the travel arrangements for other company personal. There were 4.3 million administrative assistants in 2008, and the median income was $28,000.
