Sunshine State holds key to White House

According to CNN, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama will be in Florida Monday, when the state begins its early voting period.

He is scheduled to campaign in Tampa and Orlando, located along the Interstate 4 corridor, a region key to both candidates' strategies for winning the state. New York Senator Hillary Clinton is expected to campaign with Obama in Orlando.

The most recent CNN Poll of Polls for the state showed Obama leading Republican presidential nominee John McCain by three points, 49 percent to 46 percent. The polls were conducted October 4 through October 15.

McCain plans to visit Missouri, making stops in St. Charles, Columbia and Belton.

A recent CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll showed McCain with a one-point advantage in the state. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points, which renders McCain's lead statistically insignificant. The poll was conducted October 11 through October 14.

Meanwhile, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is scheduled to make a swing through two Western states which may be vital to the GOP's hopes of holding onto the White House.

She campaigns in Reno, Nevada, and Colorado, holding rallies in Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, and  Loveland.

Recent Polls suggest Obama has an advantage among voters in both states.

He has a four-point advantage in Nevada, 49 percent to 45 percent. Those polls were conducted September 28 through October 9.

Obama leads McCain by six points in Colorado, 50 percent to 44 percent. The polls were conducted October 8 through October 14.
