The individual should know how to operate heavy duty equipments along with its installation procedures, wiring, and programming matters. Identifying complex problems and providing solutions is also a part of the process. In government construction sector Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic should know all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty, off-road construction equipment such as knowledge of hydraulic components, changing oil and batteries, and performing complete lubrication tasks on equipment and machinery. While in army sectors the Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic usually deals with the causes of malfunctions of heavy duty vehicles such as M1 and M2/M3 and proceeds ahead with its repair and maintenance. To get through government sector the individual should possess physical ability to carry over 40 pounds and must comply with the Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
