Federal Government Jobs description
Federal government jobs are a very coveted field because of the fact that the federal government is the largest employer in America. The main advantage of working for the government is job stability, health insurance and relatively good pay. The federal government indentifies the entry level jobs as falling in the grades GS1 to GS6, while the highest grade is GS15.The most common entry level position is that of clerks which are needed at all government organizations. The starting salary for this position is around $24,000. After the clerks, next up is the assistant position, which again is needed across all agencies. Assistants are paid around $30,000 per year. Technicians are paid around $32,000 per year and secretaries and accountants are paid $27,000 and $33,000 per year respectively. Local government agencies at the city and county level are also hiring people all the time and most of these are in the utilities sector.
