Summary

SKIESUnlimited encompasses instructional programs for children and youth ranging from four weeks old to adolescence. Through SKIESUnlimited, children and youth in Child Development Services, School Age Services, Middle School and Teen, and Outreach Services (OS) Programs, as well as home-schooled children, have equal access to opportunities that expand their knowledge, inspire them, allow them to explore, and acquire new skills.

Children and youth are able to participate in our instructional programs for multiple purposes: to explore new skills, to pursue and nurture personal interests, to interact socially with others, to build a resume, to bolster a college application, or even to foster a close relationship with caring , knowledgeable adults outside of the home. Instructional programs foster the development of critical life, leadership, and social skills.

The instructional area for this position is GYMNASTICS.

This is an open continuous announcement. Qualified applicants will be forwarded to management for consideration on a weekly or as needed basis.

The salary listed on this announcement is based on a 40 hour work week. This is an Intermittent (flexible) position with no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or an as-needed basis, between 0 and 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program and provides individual and/or group lessons to participants.

Tracks participant's accomplishments, long and short term goals, effort, and evaluations as appropriate for age and type of instruction.

Implements changes and adjustments to instructional program and plans to meet unusual situations associated with the needs of individual children and youth.

Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.

Works under the written and verbal direction of the supervisor, who provides guidance on scope of assignments and assistance on the more complex, non-routine problems encountered.

Occasional travel - Minimal travel may be required for training purposes, local to the installation.

1. Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on the job competency is required.

2. Background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2, paragraph 2-13; i. must be successfully completed and maintained to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).

3. Successful completion of pre-employment health physical and immunizations.

Qualifications

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.

2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).

3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.

6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in instructional area of Gymnastics.

Highly Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificates/Credentials; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in the area of instruction (GYMNASTICS).
