This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

The organizational location of this position is: NAT AIR/SPCE INTEL CE SC00, WRIGHT PATTERSON AFB OH 45433

The primary purpose of this position is to direct and evaluates procedures and software routines, defines network structure and establishes system level processes that will ensure uninterrupted operations within NASIC's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Develops network monitoring policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability, accessibility, and defense against unauthorized intrusions.

Provides team oversight and analysis to network administrators for the full deployment of all critical related products.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for system projects to ensure all facets meet or exceed security mandates from all accrediting organizations. Directly support, guide and analyze all local area network and voice protocol initiates.

Develops disaster network recovery procedures in consonance with associate SC entities.

The incumbent directs senior network administrators in the execution of network infrastructure safeguards and products.

Analyzes system requirements in response to new NASIC programmatic demands.

Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

PCS expenses is not authorized will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations

Qualifications

Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This experience could have been gained through paid or unpaid IT related experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (i.e. IT certification) that furnishes me with a thorough knowledge and ability to demonstrate each of the four competencies (1) attention to detail, (2) customer service, (3) oral communications, and (4) problem solving. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a full range of network systems LAN/WAN, design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements. Knowledge of NASIC's strategic vision and network architecture to include an extensive knowledge of network management protocols and tools to include NetIQ, and the capacity to configure the tools and analyze the results. Knowledge of systems engineering and network management protocols and analytical/monitoring tools and knowledge of network operating and maintenance concepts and methods to troubleshoot network problems. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of a full range of network systems LAN/WAN, design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements.

3. Knowledge of systems engineering and network management protocols and analytical/monitoring tools and knowledge of network operating and maintenance concepts and methods to troubleshoot network problems.

4. Knowledge of organizational structure and environment of NASIC, the intelligence community, and DoD.

5. Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques, and requirements appropriate to managing base level network systems.

6. Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of network problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
