This position will be filled as an NH-04 MEDIUM with a starting salary of $114,590 to $158,680 (includes 28.22% locality), unless statutory or regulatory rates prevail.

Responsibilities

As a General Engineer some of your typical work assignments may include:

Directing, reviewing, coordinating, and implementing broad strategies, policies, and procedures for programming, planning, developing, acquisition, and execution of the quality, mission assurance, and assurance integration programs for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Program.

Serving as a technical consultant on policy issues affecting program quality, mission assurance, and assurance integration, and insures that functions and operations are preformed uniformly, economically and in accordance with MDA policies and procedures.

Establishing program criteria and standards, formulates quality, mission assurance, and assurance integration programs, and validates program requirements.

Ensuring lessons learned are shared within the Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance community as well as other Program/Project/Element offices to prevent mistakes from being repeated.

Serving as an expert on Quality/Mission Assurance and technical consultant to MDA program/project offices.

Representing MDA/QS on field visits to various Services, Commands, and Program Offices to assist in the planning, development, acquisition, and execution of the quality, mission assurance, and assurance integration programs and processes.

You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position. Experience must be reflected in your resume.

Specialized experience required for this position is:

1 year of specialized experience in applying quality and mission assurance techniques on DOD weapon system components.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
