The Lead Data Privacy Analyst will work as deputy for the Sr. Manager of Data Privacy. In this role you have responsibility for leading the local implementation and operation of the Bank's Privacy Program including our strategy, projects and initiatives. You will provide bank-wide leadership for the inventory of privacy-related data; assessment of privacy-risks; and monitoring for privacy compliance. In this role, you will also coordinate staff training; engage and advise business areas on data privacy best-practices; review local privacy procedures; review vendor contracts; run data privacy incident response activities; and collaborate with other areas of the Bank, such as information security, legal, and human resources. While the majority of your time will be committed to privacy matters, your role is expected expand over time to include all Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities for the 12L Information Security department.
Serve as a visible and highly engaged leader who coordinates and runs the local implementation of the data privacy program
Publish privacy notices and local procedures
Consult with business areas on Personally Identifiable information (PII) collection, minimization, appropriate use, information sharing, proper handling and disposal
Drive the bank-wide PII inventory initiative
Oversee privacy related risk assessment efforts
Provide data privacy training to Bank staff and management
Provide advice on how data privacy standards can be applied
Lead and monitor Bank compliance with Federal Reserve System (FRS) privacy framework
Review data privacy controls and results with Information Technology teams
Lead local data privacy incident responses
Represent the Bank in data privacy incidents involving the FRS
Manage vendor privacy assessment activities
Participate in the FRS Data Privacy Advisory Council that supports consistency and sharing of best-practices and tools across districts.
Act as our in-house data privacy expert and advocate
Significant data privacy experience required
Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree in related field preferred, such as law, information technology, compliance or risk management
5-10 years of demonstrated, forward-thinking, and relevant leadership experience in a complex business environment, as evidenced by an established record of achievement leading or sponsoring successful initiatives
Resourceful, flexible, and open to new ways of thinking, motivates change with influence and not authority. Sound business judgment with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and identify priorities, drive performance, and execute plans on schedule. Excels in a cross-functional role that requires interaction with multiple business areas and functions, such as legal, information security, etc.
Superb communication skills (written and oral) with demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts to all levels of an organization. Effective presentation and persuasion capabilities and management presence that elicits confidence and credibility
Demonstrated strategic and critical thinker with the analytical skills necessary to evaluate, organize, and direct complex development projects and programs. Ability to identify key strategic issues affecting areas of responsibility and demonstrate an understanding of their implications
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills. Superior business insight, strategic planning skills and experience with an emphasis on innovation and automation
Some or all of the following additional qualifications are preferred, but not required:
Data privacy professional certification (CIPP, CIPM, DPO or others)
Attorney license and legal experience
Leading/chairing multi-functional projects or project teams
Leading and implementing a privacy program, including policy/standard/control application and vendor/third party management
Data privacy incident response experience
Experience with business side data analytics or modeling
Use of data management and analysis tools, or
Experience with governance risk and compliance (GRC) platforms and applications
