Responsibilities

At the full performance level (GS-12), serves as project coordinator with full responsibility through a multidisciplinary team for the contract administration and surveillance and control of assigned construction projects involving military and civil construction activities.

Exercises professional knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with construction standards and the Corps of Engineers criteria and policies.

Work involves construction contracts at a military base with a variety of structures and facilities as well as miscellaneous civil and/or HTRW contracts.

Typical building construction consists of reinforced concrete, masonry and brick, structural steel, metal exterior panels siding, etc.

All structures are of a complex design requiring extensive reinforcing steel to comply with criteria for protection against earthquakes and wind loads.
