JOB SUMMARY:
This position will serve as the supervisor to a unit of Rehabilitation Services Specialists, including providing training, and assigning and checking work.
JOB DUTIES:
Monitor case management practices, conducts case reviews, and analyzes reports
Supervise case managers to include ensuring compliance with RSA policies and procedures, monitoring timely case management decisions, and analyzing, interpreting and applying legal/procedural issues
Recruit, interview, and hire new employees, evaluate performance, provide training and information on Federal/DES/RSA policies, and assist in developing employee educational plans
Oversee multiple work schedules, leave schedules, and staffing coverage
Provide information systems, counseling techniques, marketing, and community relations and services
Monitor customer satisfaction and quality control, analyze disputes, mediate informal appeals, act as liaison to client assistance programs, and testify in administrative reviews of fair hearings
Coordinate and evaluate cooperative 3

party agreements with entities such as Transition from School/Work programs and Tribal governments/City/municipality initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
Federal and state laws, statutes, rules, regulations, personnel policies and procedures pertaining to provisional vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities
Occupational opportunities and labor market trends
Methods and techniques of instructing persons with physical, sensory, cognitive and psychiatric disabilities
Skill in:
Negotiating and or coordination of agency services
Developing research methodology and strategies to meet specific issues in staff planning or operation
Interviewing and listening, work management and work leadership and achieving goals
Ability to:
Prioritize, assign and review work, and utilize resources effectively
Provide information to customers, providers, community organizations and agencies
Evaluate and manage cases, establish and maintain relationships, and analyze and interpret complex medical and psychological reports
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Rehabilitation Counseling or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, plus two years of related Human Services Experience; OR a Master’s degree with a major in a related field, plus two years of related Human Services Experience, OR, a Master’s degree in a non-related field, plus three years of Human Services work, Or, a Bachelor’s degree with a major in a related field plus three years of Human Services work experience equivalent to a RSS 2 or RSS 3; OR any Bachelor’s degree plus four years of related Human Services work experience equivalent to a RSS 2 or 3
Must meet eligibility standards for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) established by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification within 6 years of employment as a RSA Rehabilitation Services Supervisor
Apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets Level One requirements
Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees
Be subject to a search of Child Protective Services Central Registry
Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
