The Los Angeles County, Child Welfare Public Health Nursing (CWPHN) is recruiting to fill one Intermediate Typist-Clerk position.
Essential Job Functions
Assists nursing with identifying care coordination based on nursing priorities by sorting, distributing and entering data into CWS/CMS received from emHUB notifications, 561s, Psychotropic Medication Authorizations (PMAs), PM160s, referrals and other documents per established office procedures.
Assists nursing to expedite care coordination in a timely manner for the children in the child welfare system and foster care,monitoring response to follow-up phone calls, faxes, sending letters to providers and/or caregivers per established office procedures, and maintaining a data collection system for reference and follow up.
Assists PHNS with the Monthly Statistical Report by compiling the Regions monthly data and inputting the information into a Monthly Regional/ PHN ITC Report for Management review.
Updates the child's CWS/CMS Health Notebook with basic information such as: change of address, contact phone numbers, medical provider's identifying information, and demographics.
Assists the PHN with initiating and/or following up on requests for medical records.
Assists in updating client immunization information into the CWS/CMS system as directed by the PHN.
Assists nursing by returning phone calls to assure client receives follow-up care for child's diagnosis as part of the care coordination process.
Obtains office status reports regarding medical and dental compliance from the LA KIDS Utilization Report (COGNOS) and retrieves the purple folders for cases that are past due on medical and dental exams.
Must currently be a permanent Los Angeles County employee who holds the payroll item of Intermediate Typist-Clerk.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Excellent telephone etiquette.
Knowledge & experience with Word, Excel and other computer programs.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
An excellent attendance record.
