Qualifications

One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level that demonstrates the ability to interpret court decisions and use legal research to find applicable decisions; perform research analysis and evaluate data submitted for inclusion or exclusion in response to highly complex, sensitive, and controversial requests for information; review completed requests for appropriateness of material to be released or withheld, and composing response letters; analyzing arguments presented in administrative appeals and consulting with others as required; and justify withholding and citing appropriate exemptions in regarding denials.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must:

\tMeet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
\tMeet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 02/19/2018.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
