Application Support and Maintenance role is an integral part of Service Management Operations with primary focus on the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response, of the applications, platforms and services that support business objectives. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient support for internally developed applications, commercial off-the-shelf ( COTS) hosted and cloud based solutions .
FRBNY is adapting a Cloud First strategy to accelerate the speed of delivery and to drive more value through technology. This role requires technology experience covering cloud platforms, including (Azure or Amazon Web Services), infrastructure automation/orchestration technologies (e.g. Puppet).
This individual will have solid technical infrastructure experience, strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skill, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to application support. This individual is also responsible for operational and service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency and agility goals are achieved.
The ideal candidate will provide support and facilitate innovative and experimental work to test new ideas as well as increase resiliency for existing legacy solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response of the applications, platforms and services that support business objectives.
Direct, manage, plan and administer the operational and administrative activities associated with running and maintaining production application services for business areas.
Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
Understand customer's application portfolio, manage appropriate support processes and SLAs; ensure systems performance and service-level requirements are met.
Foster a strong sense of teamwork between Service Operations and other TG Functions, as well as business leaders within the FRBNY and FRS.
Manage strategic relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they meet the needs of the organization.
Develop workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies that balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable and efficient.
Contribute to near, mid and long-term Cloud First technology strategies.
Provide support for planning / migrating / operating in hybrid Cloud computing environment.
Lead the change to shape current operating model for hybrid environment.
Experience migrating to or architecting cloud solutions
Experience migrating from on-premise to any popular cloud platform e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure
Cloud operations knowledge with at least one provider, private or public, such as auto scaling, cloud-config, security, instance lifecycle, etc.
Experience with hybrid cloud solutions
Experience in design and architecture of enterprise Cloud infrastructure
A clear understanding of cloud service and deployment model
Knowledge of middleware, web server and application technologies and tools.
Working knowledge of Lean IT, agile development, and DevOps principles and frameworks.
Experience transitioning an organization from traditional to agile methodologies.
Experience in acquisition, deployment and management of cloud services.
Experience in IT applications, operations, and service and support organizations.
Applied knowledge of project principles to oversee and lead technical projects
Experience managing technology implementations in highly secure environments with a solid understanding of security architecture concepts
Strong Communication Skills and Consensus-Oriented Decision-Making Style. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively and communicate in a proactive fashion is critical.
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical people to enhance understanding and drive decisions that lead to positive outcomes.
Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment (as well as external vendors and service providers).
Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
Strong analytical, data-processing and problem-solving skills.
Openness to and the ability to deal with, rapid change in business needs, processes and technologies.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
10 years of demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team (20 people).
2 years IaaS experience ( AWS / Azure )
Clearance level requires U.S. Citizenship
