This position is part of the asset optimization group that develops and implements strategies for day-ahead resource offers, demand bids and Bilateral Settlement Schedules (BSS) to maximize the generation resources to serve firm load and optimize surplus generation revenue with the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market. The incumbent is primarily responsible for formulating, submitting and verifying the demand bids in the SPP market for multiple settlement locations and asset owners. Coordinates hydro resources with the Corp of Engineers taking into account the physical and environmental limitations and outages during maintenance periods. Develops schedules and tags firm power allocations to Upper Great Plains customers in the east interconnected system.
Occasional travel - Overnight travel may be required up to 1 day per month.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
For the AD-4 Level:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-3 or GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: progressively responsible experience listed in item 1 below and additional specialized experience listed in either 2, 3 or 4 below:
1) Operational experience with a Regional Market, Independent Transmission System Operator or a Regional Transmission Organization and;
2) Power system resource planning, scheduling and energy marketing; or
3) Power system load forecasting, scheduling and risk management; or
4) Experience in energy accounting procedures, statistics, or economics related to power scheduling, rates or billing.
For the AD-3 Level:

Knowledge of Western's firm power customer contracts and the ability to develop firm power schedules and tags to fulfill customer allocations.
