The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Agriculture Program Specialist in the Agriculture Resources Division

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all administrative operations and day-to-day management decisions concerning Pesticide Applicator Licensing including the management of applicator files, pesticide training information, pesticide training seminar/session information and pesticide applicator administration.

Responsible for periodic review of all testing materials as necessary to be in compliance with federal requirements. Maintain and update Pesticide Applicator Licensing SOP.

Assist in the pesticide applicator training for both agriculture and urban application.

Assist division employees and other agricultural inspectors/investigators in the area of pesticide applicator information.

Primary Division licensing contact for Idaho pesticide applicators.

Responsible for test scoring and posting for applicator testing.

Responsible for issuing pesticide applicator licenses to qualified persons.

Minimum Qualifications:

These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

Experience planning or providing agricultural program services.

Experience reviewing laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures for compliance OR explaining to others how they apply to specific situations.

Experience developing written technical reports or correspondence evaluating agricultural, science or business related issues.

Specialty Qualifications:

These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

Experience creating and giving presentation for public meetings using PowerPoint or similar software programs.

Some knowledge of supervisory practices.

Valid driver's license.

Desirable Qualification:

This qualification is not required however if you have the related background it may increase your score.

Experience in business or a human service agency where you interacted with clients or customers in a customer service role.

Temporary appointments from this announcement, serving at least one thousand forty (1,040) hours of continuous service, may be hired as an entrance probationary employee without further examination for the same classification and location as announced.
