to assist the transportation maintenance manager (TMM) in overseeing the work of a large maintenance crew engaged in maintenance and landscape activities for the repair, renovation, and reconstruction of roadbeds, surfaces, structures, and facilities. Come join our team!

Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign work activities.
Provide new employee orientation and resolve employee issues.
Ensure adherence to safety precautions and good public relations practices.
Determine types and quantities of materials and equipment needed for projects.
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
Assist with short- and long-range planning and budget preparation.
Act as a technical consultant.
Patrol highways and structures within the section looking for potential accidents, hazards, and damages.
Respond to accidents and other emergencies.
Write and evaluate contracts.
Monitor and inspect permitted activities for compliance.
Perform manual labor and operate a variety of heavy and light equipment and/or tools.
Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills
Three years of maintenance and/or construction experience in roadway/highway, bridge, sign, drawbridge or landscape. One year of this experience must have included lead work responsibilities.
Applicants must be able to respond to emergency call-outs within 30 minutes to 4141 Hamrick Rd, Central Point, OR.
Employee will be required to use a commercial motor vehicle to conduct business; you must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver's license Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement (without a manual transmission and 5th wheel restriction) with an acceptable driving record that meets all established agency, state and federal requirements pertaining to a commercial driver's license; or
have the ability to acquire one within six months of hire (ODOT will cover training and costs) to be considered eligible for this position.
Must be able to drive a manual transmission.

May be required to walk on rough terrain, stoop or bend around structures, or climb ladders or equipment.
Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds.
May work in confined spaces.
Overnight and extended travel may be required.
