The primary purpose of this position is to verify and analyze equipment, malfunctions, troubleshoot, calibrate, modify, test, align, inspect and repair assigned internal and external weapons delivery systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots integrated weapons systems, electronic and electro-mechanical components, subassemblies, and test equipment to determine the nature of malfunctions and corrective actions required.

Performs maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication and modification of integrated weapons systems electronic and electro-mechanical components and their subassemblies.

Performs alignment and calibration of integrated weapons systems components and subassemblies using associated test equipment.

Removes/Installs integrated weapons systems electronic components, and subassemblies into aircraft alternate mission equipment, and associated test equipment.

Performs pretest, operational, functional, and final testing of integrated weapon systems electronic components, alternate mission equipment, and their subassemblies.

Accomplishes quality assurance evaluations on alternate mission equipment, integrated aircraft gun systems, associated support equipment, required documentation, and certified personal tasks.

Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program. Utilizes safety practices and procedures. Complies with security regulations, directives, and policies. Control tools.

Completes work control documents in accordance with established procedures. Cleans work area and equipment.

Upon occasion will be tasked to work on the flight line and will be required to meet all flight line training requirements to include safing aircraft for maintenance and cockpit entry.

This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Reduction Program. Incumbent(s) of this position are subject to the possibility of random drug tests.

To qualify, there is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate enough experience in your application to show you possess sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position at the level for which applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

2. Skill in the use of standard hand and power tools of the electronics and electro-mechanical trades.Skill in reading and interpreting a variety of technical data such as schematic diagrams, blueprints, and technical orders relating to the electronics and electro-mechanical trades.

3. Comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities, and limitations of complex electronic systems complicated by a variety of multi-component assemblies and devices.

4. Knowledge of related electronic, electrical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

5. Skill in removing/installing complete electronic or electro-mechanical systems. Ability to operate a computer.Skill in the selection and use of electronic and electro-mechanical testing equipment. Skill in testing complete electronic and electro-mechanical systems. Skill in maintaining, repairing, modifying, calibrating, and troubleshooting complete electronic and electro-mechanical systems.

6. Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, technical orders and policy statements. Knowledge of tool, equipment, and materials accountability and security. Ability to clean work area and job site upon completion of work. Knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its certification and documentation procedures.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

The certification must reflect the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date of submission. The certification must be signed by, or by direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters and must indicate when your terminal leave will begin (if applicable), your rank, dates of active duty service, the type of discharge and character of service (i.e. honorable). Further, under paragraph (h) of the rule, agencies are required to verify a qualifying separation from military service prior to appointment, through the DD-214 or other appropriate documentation.
