DUTIES FOR NF-01, WAITER (TRAINEE):
This is a developmental position to full performance Waiter. As a trainee, develops skills and knowledge as a dining room and cocktail lounge waitress. Is assigned progressively more responsible and detailed tasks in food and beverage service in the clubs or other facilities, which provide dining room and/or cocktail lounge service. Assigned tasks and instructions include exposure to setting up work area with required place settings, silverware and condiments; receiving patrons and taking food and beverage menu orders; providing table service in bar, cocktail lounge, or dining room; preparing sales checks and receipt of cash, or charge card; registering sales manually, or in cash register; and tallying cash receipts at end of shift. Duties may also include related assignments according to function in which participating such as preparation of dining area for formal or banquet table arrangement; cleaning area after the function, disposing of soiled linens, china and glassware, and refuse. DUTIES FOR NF-02, WAITER:
Takes orders placed by guest for alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages and food items from menus. Required to be fully familiar with all food items available and all beverage items available for guest consumption. Orders drinks from bartender and delivers to guest. Sets tables, arranges place settings and table decorations. Receives guests, makes suggestions and answers questions about food, wines and other items available. Takes orders. Conditions of Employment

6. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours annual refresher training.

9. A one year probationary period may be required.

The minimum qualifications for each position level are as follows:
NF-01 LEVEL: Must meet the state/local age requirement for the serving of alcoholic beverages. No prior training or work experience required. Applicant must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions, and, prepare checks for patrons. Demonstration of the following work behaviors is desirable:
a. Courtesy and tact in serving patrons,
b. Neatness and good grooming,
c. Dependability, and
d. Clear speaking voice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be physically able to stand, stoop, bend, walk and do moderate lifting for long periods of time. Must be able to hear the conversational voice.
NF-02 LEVEL: In addition to the NF-01 requirements, applicant must meet state/local age requirements for the servicing of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment. Possess basic math skills necessary to compute patron bills and make change. Be able to communicate effectively in English.
NF-03 LEVEL: In addition to the NF-01 and NF-02 requirements, candidates must:
1. Where duties involve selling alcoholic beverages applicant must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment.
2. Possess basic math skills necessary to compute patron bills and make change.
3. Be able to communicate effectively in English.
4. Have work experience performing the duties identified.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
