Performs a variety of duties in connection with the operation and maintenance of a high-speed, high-quality digital color press, such as the HP Indigo, Kodak?s NexPress, or Xerox?s iGEN4
Receives and processes digital files sent to the digital press, operates the digital press, and maintains schedule of maintenance interventions to ensure the digital press operates optimally
Utilizes job management software to sort, prioritize, and manipulate order of jobs in the system queue on multiple pieces of equipment
Selects methods and materials to efficiently produce finished color documents of the highest quality
Resolves a variety of document automation production problems, continually assessing machine effectiveness in attaining quality levels and formulating responses to system anomalies

To qualify for a Supervisory Document Automation Specialist, your qualifications must include:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include: Setting up and operating a high-speed, high-quality digital press;
Receiving and formatting digital data in the prepress stage;
Performing bindery functions involving perfect binding, trimming, and aligning images in two-page color spreads;
Advising on production efforts or resolving document automation production problems

Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade level GS-09, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-09
