Summary

This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D1953000 and is part of the AZ 161st Air Refueling Wing, Air National Guard.

NOTE: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.

Individual selected will receive a Permanent Appointment after successful completion of a one year trial period.

Responsibilities

SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-7, this position is located at the 161st Air Refueling Wing, Phoenix, Arizona. The position is the Customer Service Representative performing Flight Service Center (FSC) duties within the Maintenance Support Section. The primary purpose is the point of contact for interfacing with the Global Logistics Support Center (GLSC) on behalf of the maintenance customers. Responsibilities include performing mission capability (MICAP) verification, reports, and processes cannibalization actions; manage the Due-in From Maintenance (DIFM) program; establish requirements for customers using automated systems and notifies customers of asset availability; perform periodic visits to maintenance work centers; providing guidance for maintaining bench, operating, and shop stock; and assisting users in resolving any materiel management related problems; managing supply points, time-change, time compliance technical orders, awaiting parts, turn-around, local manufacture, command intensive management items, quality deficiency report programs, and the Air Force Repair Enhancement Program. Performs other duties assigned.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

Military Grades: E-4/SrA - E-6/TSgt

Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess 2S051.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
