Summary

As Deputy Director for Region 9, will assist in setting annual and long-term objectives for the division. Assist in deciding how to deal with the work, goal setting and priorities for the different branches and staffs, and allocating resources among them.

Assists in deciding what personnel, financial, and material resources are needed to accomplish the mission of the Facilities Management Division. Revises plans in response to changing program requirements and resource availability. Assist in analyzing the work that needs to be done by the various segments of the division to determine the number of employees needed and the skills required.

Responsibilities

Assists in setting annual and long-term objectives for the division. Assists in deciding how to manage the work, goal setting and priorities for the different branches and staff, and allocating resources among them. Assists in deciding what personnel, financial, and material resources are needed to accomplish the mission of the Facilities Management and Services Programs Division.

Assists the Director on technical and policy aspects of facilities management operations. Contributes to the overall policy and management of the Region 9 Public Buildings Service by participating with other staff members in considering PBS problems and plans.

Follows up on work progress. Ensures that the branch chiefs, and all employees understand the production goals and performance standards and use them in organizing their individual work.

Works with the Division Director in dealing with customer agencies and other interest parties in regard to the nature and quality of service rendered by the division as well as on individual problems.

Recommends improved methods, changes in schedules or revised staffing in an effort to reduce costs and improve effectiveness and efficiencies.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $ 124,475.00 per year.

To qualify, you must demonstrate 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level of Federal Service.

Specialized experience is experience managing, coordinating, and implementing programs and executing policies, regulations, and procedures related to the day-to-day operations of a commercial office building including the following building programs: maintenance and operations; building services and building services contracts; environmental compliance; energy conservation; and life safety.
