Performs optometric evaluation and treatment;
Coordinates daily patient flow;
Reviews medical chart to evaluate treatment and the necessity for follow-up visits;
Implements policies, procedures, rules and regulations related to optometric services;
Coordinates with staff ophthalmologists in the daily treatment of patients;
Under direction of ophthalmologists, performs technical ophthalmogical functions such as fluorescein, angiography, retinal photography and visual field examinations;
Organizes and distributes angiography results to private practitioners;
Maintains inventory of supplies for optometry and ophthalmology services;
Prepares and submits reports on major equipment for the eye clinic;
Maintains liaison with optometric organizations, practitioners, and optician professionals;
Performs related work as required.
Possession of a valid license to practice optometry as issued by the California State Board of Optometry and sufficient professional experience in optometry to demonstrate proficiency in the following:
Principles and practices of general optometry.
Evaluate the type and quality of optometric services provided and recommend appropriate action;
Formulate and recommend policies and procedures;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, professionals and patients;
Express ideas clearly and concisely in oral and written forms.
