NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (POLICY AND PLANNING), GS-2210-12, you will:
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organization, ensuring that the advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Assign work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.
Assess and revise policies and procedures as needed to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work.
Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Represent the organization with a variety of state and functional area of organizations.
Evaluate reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepare detailed responses.
Research and determine or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Selectee has two (2) years to obtain required MOS

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training in the following: Data processing functions
Understand the stages required to automate a work process
Work as a computer operator, computer assistant, or program analysis
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months of the following: Approach techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty
Sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment
Adaptation of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment
Prepare documentation on cost and benefits in a logical fashion
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education as advertised on this announcement.
