THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1229000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4-MATES/ 7021-060).

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Responsibilities

As a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT SUPERVISOR, WS-6904-6, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis; establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor; coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors; determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects; redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work; inform the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources; participate with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work; investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes; implement corrective actions within authority to resolve work problems; recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors; plan and establish overall leave schedules; determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for accomplishment; set performance standards, and make formal appraisals of subordinate work performance; initiate recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates; perform the non-supervisory work of the function, as needed; implement regulatory safety requirements and ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; adhere to published guidance, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity; implement and comply with facility, agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements; ensure use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs; ensure all aspects of Force Protection to include physical security, key control, property accountability, access control and employee protection is in accordance with established policies and regulations; ensure subordinates are trained, qualified, and equipped with proper personnel protective equipment, environmental mediation equipment, and materials; ensure the employees wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises; perform other duties as assigned.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

Military Grades: Enlisted (E6 and above) or Warrant Officer (CW4 and below)

Compatible Military Assignments: 91 92 94

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
