Information about the surrounding area may be found . Physical Demands: Work is generally sedentary. The duties associated with the position call for the exercise of a high level of concentration. The incumbent is subjected to the pressures associated with heavy workload, meeting deadlines and adjusting to sudden, unexpected shifts in priority of work. Work Environment: Work is performed primarily within a climate controlled office. The incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations and prescribed in manuals\/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer. Responsibilities - Responsible for leasable minerals authorizations and adjudication functions. - Provides technical advice & assistance regarding the Phosphate Leasing Program to various entities. - Reviews applications\/authorizations for policy, procedural and regulatory compliance; issues decisions regarding said compliance. - Interfaces with Federal Agencies on case\/application status and reviews legalities of proposed stipulations and applies them to authorizations. - Principal State adjudicative authority for hardrock minerals, geothermal, oil, gas and coal applications and authorizations. - Functions as the State bankruptcy coordinator for all cases and manages related cases. - Researches and prepares adjudication actions for unique, nonrecurring cases to include notices, decisions, and technical responses associated to Mining Law. - Serves as the State backup bonding program lead; provides legal assistance to the Office of the Solicitor. Travel Required Occasional travel - Travel may be required to attend trainings, conferences, workshops, and\/or field visits.
