About the Position: This position is located in the Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County. Bordering the installation to the north are the towns of Waynesville, St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive to the east along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Perform testing, troubleshooting, overhauling, installations and adjustments.

Repair defective electronic equipment by replacing bad components such as transistors, speakers, diodes, resistor condensers, wiring, switches, printed circuit board, motor, regulators, etc.

Use Automated Supply/Maintenance Management Systems such as Global Combat Support System (GCSS).

Possess knowledge of electronic mechanic trade practices, theories and techniques.

Interpret drawings, schematics, technical publications, blueprints, and specifications to repair electronic systems.

Use hand tools such as drills, chassis punches, wrenches, soldering irons and micro soldering units to remove and replace circuit parts.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently lifts and carries, unassisted, items weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to lift and carry items weighing more than 40 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required. Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplish repairs and miniature components.

WORKING CONDITIONS : Work accomplished inside is usually in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated area. Work accomplished outside the repair facility may require exposure to cold, heat and existing weather conditions, and may occasionally work in high or restricted places. Employee may be exposed to electrical shock, burns, cuts and bruises.
