The VA Butler Healthcare located in Butler, PA is seeking highly skilled individuals to provide high quality services to our nations Veterans. Since 1947, VA Butler Healthcare has provided state-of-the-art healthcare services to the men and women who have so proudly served our nation. As a VA Butler Healthcare staff member, you will enjoy working in the state-of-the are Abie Abraham Health Care Center (HCC), located in the heart of Butler County. The HCC provides comprehensive care including primary, specialty, and mental health. Our Community Living Center provides short-stay and long-stay nursing home care and our Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment program offers Veterans the chance to participate in a full range of rehabilitation services with a goal of successful reintegration back into the local community. In addition to our Health Care center in Butler, we offer services in five community based outpatient clinics located in Armstrong, Southern Butler (Cranberry Township), Clarion, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties. Responsibilities

Individual assists with the processing of CITC consults in the CITC Division within the COS line. Individual works in a team environment and performs all administrative duties associated with processing Veteran CITC consults. Duties include but not limited to administrative determination of eligibility of CITC requests, contacting Veterans directly regarding CITC requests. Utilization of a variety of computer systems, including Microsoft Office, VISTA, CPRS and FBCS are essential to the role. Position includes significant direct contact with Veterans and community providers in person and by phone. Customer service skills are essential to the role.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

· Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.

· English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English.

And

· Experience: Six months of experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

OR

· Education: One year above high school;

OR

· Experience/Education Combination: Equivalent combination of experience and education are acceptable for qualification.

Grade Determinations:

A. Creditable Experience:

1. Knowledge of Current MSA Practices: To be creditable, the experience must have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with current MSA responsibilities. Experience satisfying this requirement may be paid/non-paid employment as an MSA.

2. Quality of Experience: Qualifying experience must be at a level comparable to MSA experience at the next lower grade level.

B. Grade Determinations: The following criteria must be met

1. GS-3 MSA (Basic Qualifications)

2. GS-4 MSA (Developmental Level)

a. Experience or Education. One year of experience in clerical or office work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position or two years of education above high school.

b. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Candidates must demonstrate the KSAs below:

1. Ability to meet, communicate and interact with individuals from varying backgrounds and other health care team members in a courteous and helpful manner in order to complete job assignments.

2. Ability to use various types of office automation equipment and software.

3. Ability to set up, organize, and maintain record systems.

3. GS-5 MSA (Full Performance Level)

a. Experience or Education: One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level OR 4 years of education above high school (Transcripts required).

b. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Candidates must demonstrate KSAs below:

(1) Ability to operate computerized programs and databases in order to enter, modify and retrieve sensitive information/data into or form electronic medical records, scheduling systems and/or reports.

(2) Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

(3) Ability to make appointments in a clinical setting.

(4) Ability to work independently in the accomplishment of a wide variety of duties, including setting priorities and coordinating work.

(5) Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees at varying grade levels.

(6) Ability to identify customer's concerns, perform the tasks required to resolve the issue accurately and times, and follow-up as necessary to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
