Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1960000 and is part of the NH 157th Mission Support Group, National Guard.
Individuals from Area II or Area III will serve a one year trial period and then convert to permanent status.

Definition of Area(s) of Consideration:
Area 1 - Permanent or Indefinite technicians currently employed with the New Hampshire National Guard. (This area includes New Hampshire National Guard AGR's who have USERRA rights back to a technician position).
Area 2 - AGR or temporary technician or traditional/M-Day soldier and airmen currently serving in the New Hampshire National Guard.
Area 3 - Individual eligible for immediate military membership in the New Hampshire National Guard as a military member in the grade/rank listed in this announcement. Responsibilities
Serve as a Distribution Manager, which provides technical expertise and support relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime. Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes deployment and distribution management programs.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter PRIOR to applying for this position.
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required PRIOR to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of and understanding of administrative, professional, analytical, or other work relating to traffic or transportation programs or operations. Must be skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-11) - Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training performing, administering or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States).
