These positions are located at Fort Hood Recycle Center.

The incumbent collects, receives, identifies, sorts, packs boxes, moves material to the baler machine, and operates the baler insuring the material is correct for the process.
Operates gas or diesel-powered forklift trucks capable of lifting up to 6,000 pounds and positioning loads as high as168 inches. In addition, incumbent will operate the forklift to load truck trailers using inclined ramps.
General operation of the forklift trucks will include moving, loading, unloading, transferring, transporting, stacking, and un-stacking recycle material, other goods, boxes, crates, and equipment used by or in support of the recycle operations.
As operator of the forklift truck, must maintain the vehicle logbook and maintain equipment as required. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to obtain fuel from remote locations, which may require the use of a recycle pickup truck.
Will be required to drive a ? ton, stable body and a stake body truck with a gross weight of more than 7,000 pounds, but less than 22,000 pounds.
The trucks are used throughout the post to collect recycle material from the community and from operating units on post.
The type of material will vary and the weight could exceed 10,000 pounds. The trucks may have a power tailgate to assist in loading and unloading. The operator will be required to operate this equipment without assistance.
Trucks without power tailgates will require the driver to use other techniques to load the truck.
The operation of the truck requires the driver to properly load the cargo assuring that it is secure and protected from becoming a hazard or causing lots of material that would litter the post grounds or roadways.
The driver is required to complete trip tickets, perform ?operator maintenance?, complete service records, and is responsible for any incident reports as related to accidents.
The driver may be required to drive other vehicles of other sizes or types when required by workload or when primary trucks are in for service. When authorized, the driver may be required to drive on off post public roads and highways.
The operation requires the incumbent to identify the recycle material during the sorting process in accordance with general instructions and standard procedures and policies of the recycle operation.

This position requires the successful completion of a prearranged physical and background checks. Failure to satisfactorily complete the physical and/or background checks will result in separation.
The incumbent must have a valid driver?s license and may be required to carry personal liability insurance at the level required by the post and State requirements. It may be required that the incumbent obtain a commercial driver?s license.
Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13,i., to include a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) is required.
Progressive experience that is closely associated with the duties above.
