The Health System Specialist (Group Practice Manager) is located at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) in the Executive Leadership Service Line. This position will report directly to the Chief of Staff.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide oversight and administrative management of all ambulatory care services in the Facility and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). S/He is responsible for primary care, mental health, specialty care, ambulatory surgery and all other ambulatory clinics oversight and integration into an efficient Clinic Practice Management model.
Is responsible for supporting high quality, accessible, cost effective health care services. Ensuring a high-quality patient experience for the Veteran, by acting on feedback from the Veteran, his or her family and/or significant other, Facility employees, and expert clinical staff. Will work with the Facility Quadrad to develop strategic plans for the facility as it relates to access to care and improving clinical product line performance.
Is responsible for regularly presenting key management indicators to the Executive Staff. Evaluates the current outpatient services model within their Medical Center, VISN and throughout VHA to propose national access changes that will result in extensive changes in agency policy. Will make Facility, VISN and national recommendations which will obligate or dedicate substantial VHA resources. Other duties as assigned as applicable.

You must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d).
You must have specialized experience in analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems;
Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and
Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
There is no education substitution for this grade.
