Nurse Case Reviewer Opening Date: 02/06/18 Nurse Case Reviewer - (Grade 17) Open Recruitment*Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.* The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking an experienced individual to work as a Nurse Case Reviewer. This position is responsible for determining drivers' health conditions as they relate to safe driving. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, conducting comprehensive investigations, reviewing, analyzing, and determining drivers' functional capability regarding physical and emotional health conditions, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. This list of eligible candidates will be used to fill the current and future vacancies in the Driver Wellness and Safety Division of the Motor Vehicle Administration. This position is located at the Glen Burnie Headquarters in Anne Arundel County.
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.
Two years nursing experience in a clinical setting. Two years of additional experience as a Registered Nurse may be substituted for the education requirement. Licenses & certifications: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. The MVA is not sponsoring new employees in application of the H-1B Visa at this time due to budgetary constraints. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States under the Immigration and Reform Control Act of 1986. Federal regulations prohibit H1B Visa candidates from paying sponsorship fees; all sponsorship fees must be assumed by the potential employer. Applicants with degrees granted by institutions outside of the United States will be required to provide a written evaluation of education documentation by a credentialing organization. The incumbent in this position will not be a member of a covered bargaining unit and will not be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
