This DHA Recent Graduate position provides a learning opportunityto enhance future goals and improve your knowledge with workexperience in a working environment.
1550- Performs computer science tasks of limited scope and difficulty which arescreened by a higher grade computer scientist/engineer. Some knowledge of workprocesses and the capability to apply standard computer science/engineeringpractices are required to directly apply varied rules, procedures andprecedents to the assignments. Perform computer science work of limited scopeand complexity in support of projects assigned to higher grade computerscientist/engineers. Plan work procedures and selects standard practices anddata to be applied to work projects and identify problems. Uses acceptedcomputer science/engineering work processes to search for information to bearon a problem and recognizes situations which may require referral to others. Knowledge,Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Yourqualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge,skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Professional knowledge of computer science, policies, theories, principles andconcepts to apply to scientific methods and techniques to solve assignedproblems.
2.Professional knowledge of theoretical foundations of computer science,including digital computer systems architecture and systems softwareorganization.
3.Professional knowledge of computer science and related disciplines to design,develop and adapt scientific methods and techniques to recommend solutions forcomputer problems.
4.Ability to analyze, interpret and apply computer science procedures in a varietyof situations and recommend effective solutions to senior scientist.
5.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Occasional travel - Travel to Keesler AFB, MS and San Antonio TX for training (approx. 30-120 days) will be required during the three year program

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in acombination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 ofthe 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics andmathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academicdegrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Inaddition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants musthave specialized experience and/or directly related education. All educationalrequirements must be met not later than 15 OCT 2017.
You may qualify if youmeet one of the following
1. You must have completed or will complete a 4 year course ofstudy leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution no later than 01 OCT 2017 AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at theundergraduate level in one of the following:
a) Class Standing - upper third of thegraduating class based on completed courses in the college, university, ormajor subdivision;
b) Grade Point Average -2.95 or higher out ofa possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on theaverage of the required courses completed in your major field or the requiredcourses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of yourcurriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours arenon-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc., youcannot qualify based on GPA;
c) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society(note: freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of thisposition). (If qualifying based on class standing or honor society membership,provide appropriate documentation).
2. You have one full year (18 semester hours or the equivalent) ofgraduate level study, or possess a master's or higher degree, e.g., LL.B.,J.D., LL.M., Ph.D., in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, andabilities to do the work of this position.
3. You have at least oneyear (12 months) of specialized experience, that equips you with the particularknowledge, skills, and ability to perform successfully the duties of theposition, and that is typically in or related to the work of the positions tobe filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalentto at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression forthe occupation in the organization.
4. You must have a combination of graduate education as describedabove and the type of specialized experience as described above, which whencombined would equate to 100%. (To compute, first determine your totalqualifying graduate level education as a percentage of the graduate educationrequired; then determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage ofexperience described above; add the two percentages. The total percentage mustequal to at least 100 %).
