Withinthis broad context the vital mission of the National IT Services is to deliver superior value to ourcustomers through world‐class IT services and solutions that are responsive to business needs, adaptiveto change, and essential to the mission of the Federal Reserve System.Job SummaryThe Contingency Planning/Business Continuity Analyst is responsible for supporting IT recovery strategies for National IT infrastructure services. The Contingency Analyst is responsible for developing operational recovery scripts based on input from technical support areas, developers and business owners. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing all planning activities leading up to business resumption tests as well as providing test day support for specific lines of business. The Contingency Analyst will be responsible for providing consultation in the development of recovery strategies for new platforms as well as ensuring existing processes are continuously improved to achieve efficiency. Finally, the Contingency Analyst provides support for business recovery during an actual contingency event/incident.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:- Managing planning activities and test day support for planned business resumption and contingency certification testing.- Developing and maintaining operational scripts with input from technical SMEs in support of infrastructure recovery.- Communicating with technical SMEs, business customers and management regarding all aspects of business resumption testing and business continuity planning.- Facilitating recovery strategy development for new or existing applications.- Ensuring recovery readiness for areas of responsibility, at all times.- Providing support during an actual incident or crisis.- Maintaining recovery tools/automation to ensure production readiness.','!*!Position Requirements: Knowledge: Progressive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.Communications: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.Risk Management: [The individual] is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function’s risk management.Decision Making: Works under direction with infrequent checks; follows established methods and clear-cut policy. Makes decisions when general instructions or established methods indicate action to be taken.Preferred Technical Skills and Experience:- Strong interpersonal skills to include effectively communicating, coordinating and disseminating detailed information to support business continuity and resilience across multiple teams and various levels of management and staff within the organization. Ability to influence and adjust communications to audience – senior executives through individual contributor. - Experience in developing business recovery strategies and operational procedures, supporting recovery testing, and maintaining production-ready recovery plans for National IT supported lines of business. - Experience with developing and using automation to improve process efficiency. - Experience in developing and supporting Business Continuity Plans for IT support areas.- Strong written communication skills to include developing post-test summaries, customer communications, and process documentation.- Strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills; demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, data, and technical details with desired business outcomes, and produce sound analysis and recommendations. - General technical understanding of the General Services and Critical Services Tier infrastructure and components.- Experience in developing process automation using desk top tools (Excel, etc.)- Experience in business continuity practices.- Experience in leading small to medium projects.- Knowledge of resilience models, managed solutions, and cloud technology.*Other additional requirements:The position will require extended work hours and occasional travel including overnight stays.Working Conditions: Will require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.Physical Demands: Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods of time), standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling less than 20 Ibs.US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status is required.Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
