About the Position: This position is within the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Gordon, GA. Adjacent to Augusta, GA, Fort Gordon is the Home of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence. Reviews and makes recommendations on plans, bills of materials, and estimates for the construction, alteration, modification, and repair of facility systems and related components (e.g. HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sheet metal, carpentry).

Develop inspection reports/reviews manager comments, along with information concerning contractor performance, identify performance trends/problems, recommend action (such as documenting/reporting unacceptable performance) to correct problems.

Prepares written reports of inspections, including extent of deficiencies and requirements to correct any discrepancies found, in order to maintain structures and facilities to specified standards.

Ensure that technically acceptable and timely work performance is provided by the contractors in accordance with (IAW) contract performance requirements.

Ensures evaluation methods provide documentation to the COR on systematic and equitable review, including methods for determining acceptability or non-acceptability of performance.

Performs facilities component evaluations and diagnostic inspections of facilities and structures, noting repairs required and urgency of repair.

Coordinates work with the contractor to ensure requirements are feasible and responsive to requester's needs.

Coordinates with trades shops, customers, and the contractor to ensure all phases of work are designed and completed properly.

This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

This position requires a valid, State-issued motor vehicle driver's license.

The position requires TDY up to 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that involves facility, utility, and energy, (e.g., services for building maintenance, utilities privatization requirements, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems operations).. Experience in monitoring dig permits, heating and cooling plant operations & maintenance and reviewing utility construction contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
