Job Responsibilities:
We want to talk to you if you have:
•    5 years of increasing experience in program development
•    3 years of experience in policy development, implementation and enforcement
•    5 years leading a safety unit 
•    The proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
•    Internal drive and skills to lead a diverse, highly skilled staff of safety professional
•    Experience advising and/or coaching leaders on safety related issues 
•    
Your success will be measured by your ability to:
•    Design, develop, and oversee the Seattle City Light Safety, Health and Wellness division
•    Build and maintain relationships with executive management
•    Establish and maintain programs to ensure OSHA compliance
•    Provide strategic leadership to the Safety, Health and Wellness division while maintaining connection to frontline staff
•    Lead the utility in creating innovative approaches to support strategic objectives and provide sound solutions for industrial safety matters
•    Reenvision and oversee implementation of monthly department safety meetings
•    Stay connected with utility safety trends and developments and on a local and national level 
•    Make data driven decisions to meet the goals and safety needs of the utility
•    Establish and maintain a low safety incident rate
 
Qualifications:
Education:  Bachelors degree in Business Administrative, Public Administration, Human Resources, Safety, Engineering, or a related field (or a combination of education, training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

At least 5 years in Safety Leadership role.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Experience working effectively in a large, complex organization with employee groups represented by numerous collective bargaining agreements
•    Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee potential obstacles and proactively identify solutions and resolve issues
•    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels of the organization presenting and communicating complex information to managers at varying levels in the organization on labor relations issues
•    Ability to maintain composure while having difficult conversations 
•    Demonstrated experience handling confidential and sensitive information
