Responsibilities

Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities such as, but not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.

Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.

Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.

Prepares standard operating procedures. May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5-year plan.

Transports large groups of people on trips to locations within the local community as well as outside the geographic area.

Performs the full range of personnel management responsibilities for subordinate employees.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

A one year probationary period may be required

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check

Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty

Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 215-3, 2-15.j. to include a Tier 1 background investigation

Required to obtain within 90 days of hire or possess and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

Must be able to obtain Raft Guide Instructor Certification within FY18

Qualifications

Experience in, or a combination of experience and education which provides the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups;

OR

Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. Transcripts must be uploaded at time of application.

In addition to the above requirements, highly preferred applicants will:

Have experience operating a multi-passenger vehicle.

Have management experience, program planning experience, and experience with NAF Budgets

Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

*Applicants who meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to the hiring manager first.
