This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1367000and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, Air National Guard.

NOTE: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.

NOTE: Open until filled - Applications will be reviewed every 30 days for consideration for hire until 11 Dec 18.

NOTE: No known military promotion is associated with this Technician Vacancy. All selected applicants will be placed in a position commensurate with their current rank and boarded for promotion at the discretion of military supervision.

NOTE: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work in support of a 24/7 Operation.

NOTE: Limited Permanent Change of Station (PCS) funds may be authorized if funds are available.

NOTE: Unless otherwise amended this position will close on 11 Dec 18.

Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.

Responsibilities

AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-5/8/10, this position is located at the 162nd Wing (Tucson, AZ) in a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its primary purpose is to perform on- and/or off-equipment maintenance on assigned aircraft pneudraulic systems, components and related aerospace ground equipment. Work involved in the maintenance, modification, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with aircraft. The work requires: knowledge of the physical principles governing the behavior of fluids (liquids and gases) as they pertain to hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their components; knowledge of aircraft structures and the relationship of hydraulic pneumatic systems to the structure and other aircraft systems; knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; the ability to use technical manuals and schematics and to test for and isolate malfunctions in hydraulic and pneumatic systems; and the skill to effect modifications, repairs, or maintenance required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: National Guard Membership is required.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

Military Grades: E-1/AB - E-5/SSgt

Compatible Military Assignments: Must be able to qualify for AFSC 2A6X5

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

WG-05: Must have at least 6 months experience or training which demonstrates the ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience which demonstrates the ability to learn procedures used to jack and perform hydraulic and pneumatic systems check. Experience in identifying basic malfunctions when source of trouble is easily located by appearance, sound, or response. Experience which demonstrates the ability to learn procedures used to service, maintain, disassemble, assemble and repair pneudraulic ground equipment. Experience using various hand tools. Experience which demonstrated the ability to follow written instructions.

WG-08: Must have at least 12 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling, assembling and repairing pneudraulic ground equipment. Experience using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.

WG-10: Must have at least 18 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
