This position is with the BLM Califorinia State Office, Division of Support Services, Human Resources Branch, Workforce Relations Section. The Human Resource Branch is a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines that impact employees throught the State. Professionalism, attention to detail, and confidentiality are critical for success in this position.

This is a developmental position in which the incumbent will receive assignments to develop skills and knowledge necessary to perform at the full performance level of Human Resources Specialist (Employee & Labor Relations), GS-0201-12. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance and completion of all regulatory and training requirements.

The primary function of this position is to provide guidance, consultation, advice and assistance to management on aspects of both employee & labor relations. This includes, but is not limited to grievances; disciplinary and adverse actions; employee assistance programs; performance-based actions; and reasonable accommodations; union grievances; Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs); collective bargaining; labor agreement administration and interpretation; and Federal Labor Relations Act determinations.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Travel may be required for training attendance or site visits.
