The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking an undergraduate junior or senior for a summer internship in the Bank's Research Department, with majors in Economics, Finance or Statistics.

The intern will assist the research team with the following projects:

Inventory of State Economic Events: The intern will be asked to compile key economic events and/or known statistical data anomalies that affect state economic variables, e.g., major storms and labor strikes.  Such a timeline is of immediate value for policy, to the production and analysis of our state coincident indexes, and would be of value to regional researchers throughout the Federal Reserve System. 

Regional Research:  Management will assign tasks to gather data and conduct preliminary analysis on one or two research topics.

(eg.:  using income or poverty data) that feed our pipeline for Regional Spotlight articles. 

This should provide the intern with more in-depth exposure to some aspects of regional economics.','!*!Required skills: 

Excellent written and communications skills

Good presentation skills

Take on initiative/creativity

Good problem solving skills

Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

Experience and familiar with databases and statistical/econometric software, a plus

Knowledge of SQL and/or R would be a plus.

Other: 

Sitting at a computer for long periods of time.
