NDU develops joint warfighters and other national security leaders through rigorous academics, research and engagement to serve the common defense.

Responsibilities

Performs administrative and clerical support functions and participates in projects and activities related to transition, academics, and travel.

Primary areas include international pre-arrival and arrival coordination, administrative in-processing and registration, and meeting the immediate basic needs of new International Military Students (IMS) such as housing, transportation, financial, medical requirements.

Assists in planning, organizing and scheduling of local area tours and community cultural activities. Serves as escort officer on domestic field study trips.

Responsible for all logistical support associated with assigned trips.

Assist in the development and execution of a multi-faceted sponsor program.

Assist with routine and recurring budget administration duties.

Updates and manages the IMSO web page in concert with the JFSC IT personnel.

Background or Security Investigation: This is a non-sensitive-critical position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a non-criticalsensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as planning, scheduling, and hosting international events, projects, and program involving senior staff and experience in media, outreach and public diplomacy. Examples of specialized experience include skill in written and oral communications sufficient to facilitate constructive working relationships with senior international, academic and community officials. -Experience in planning, scheduling, and hosting international events -Skill in using management information system(s), office automation systems and processes, computer applications, principles, and techniques in support of organizational operations.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Basic Educational Requirements OR (2) Specialized Experience for the grade level to which you are applying.

GS-07

(1) Education Requirements:

(The education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

A. Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university directly related to this position AND Superior Academic Achievement. Superior Academic Achievement is defined as: (1) cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last 2 years of undergraduate study; (2) GPA of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years; (3) Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision; OR (4) Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies);

OR

B. One full year of graduate level related education. Equivalent to 18 semester hours-unless otherwise defined by the school.

(2) Specialized Experience

To qualify for the GS-07, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as planning, scheduling, and hosting international events, projects, and program involving senior staff and experience in media, outreach and public diplomacy.
