About the Position:
This job provides the opportunity to support the mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot; which is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. The Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We also provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support. Positions include those providing support to the maintenance of helicopters in a variety of shops or in an office setting.

Conduct examinations, and evaluations of aircraft rotary wing transmissions and gearboxes on a pre-induction basis, inclusive of the different systems, subsystems, components, sub-components, and parts thereof for aircraft powertrain components to determine the depth and scope of the necessary repair, overhaul, and/or modification required to return to serviceable condition In Accordance With (IAW) the applicable Project Directive, mission statement, or customer specified statement of work.

Conditions of Employment

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Examiner (Aircraft Mechical Parts Repairer) without more than normal supervision. Provide production support services as an Aircraft Examiner (Acft Mech Parts Repairer). Examine and evaluate rotary wing aircraft transmission and gearboxes and determine serviceability IAW technical data (i.e. technical order, technical manuals, Depot Maintenance Work Requirement (DMWR) and technical drawings); Read, interpret, and research prints, technical directives, and specifications; Trouble shoot and provide maintenance techniques on rotary wing transmissions and gearboxes along with the associated systems, subsystems, and components.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Moderate physical effort is required to lift, reach, bend, walk, pull, push, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time. Required to lift items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and occasionally heavier items weighing over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
Works inside on concrete floors where areas are occasionally drafty and damp. Exposed to varying degrees of temperature and humidity. Subject to the presence of dirt, dust, and grease. Possible irritation of skin and eyes by aircraft fluids, frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, burns, abrasions, strains, and injury from the use of tools and equipment. Wears safety shoes, glasses, earplugs and other protective clothing as required.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
