Recreation Leader II, Senior Center Lunch Program (part-time, temporary) $12.76 - $15.51 per hour (depending on experience) Open Until Filled The POSITION:
Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, the Recreation Leader II facilitates the weekday Sage Café lunch program and assists with special events. Duties Include:
• Sage Café lunch program liaison with Open Heart Kitchen (OHK)
• Manage cash control and lunch tickets sales and inventory
• Create/submit reports, statistics for the Senior Center and OHK
• Coordinate special event activities like holiday luncheons, volunteer recognition events, and entertainment for Sage Cafe.
• Manages and coordinates Sage Café check-in desk volunteers
• Facilitates client communication, including registration and survey forms on an as- needed basis
• Creates menus marketing material for the Center's calendar and newsletter
• Works directly with participants and OHK to facilitate communication
• Assists with Senior Center special event duties as assigned The Recreation Leader II will work 5 days a week, or approximately 15 hours per week, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The ideal candidate will:
• Hold prior experience in senior recreation, and/or foodservice
• Possess excellent customer service and oral communication skills, a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Have working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Have cash handling experience
• Work independently This is a part-time, temporary position. The selected employees cannot work more than 900 hours in a fiscal year. CPR and First Aid certification are preferred. A TB is required prior to starting employment with the City. The Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed as they are received. The most qualified applicants will be invited for an interview. A reference check will be conducted prior to making an offer. Prior to starting employment, the selected applicants must provide a copy of a certificate showing that he/she has undergone and successfully cleared a tuberculosis test within the past two years, or undergo a tuberculosis test arranged by the City. Applicants selected for the positions will be required to undergo and successfully pass fingerprint checks by the City prior to starting employment.
