The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments to vendors and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify account balances and information on check requests and ensure all have required approvals. Ensures that all necessary supporting documentation is included and accurate. Input approved check request into the accounts payable system. Process and print check runs; Prepare checks for sorting and delivery. Research problems, emails, and issues that arise. Reconcile various GL accounts. Prepare journal entries as needed for the General Ledger. Assist in year-end processing to verify all vouchers are entered for the current year and the general ledger is reconciled with the subsidiary accounts. Serves as backup for the cashier. Perform other duties as assigned.
Associates degree and one year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong customer service skills (experience preferred). Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. trong Math/Analytical skills.
