The primary purpose of this position, Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist, NH-1910-03, is to serve as the supervisor and planning specialist providing leadership, continuity, and decision making capacity for a Quality Assurance

Division (MXQ) Inspection and/or Program Section. Formulate and implement plans/programs in support of mission through subordinates. Responsible for the supervision of the Maintenance Group MXQ Inspection/Program Section which has the primary function of evaluating the quality of maintenance and safety throughout the Group.

Supervise, direct and coordinate the work of Quality Assurance civilian and military personnel.

Develop and implement plans and procedures which will insure optimum compliance with directives governing safety and

maintenance practices.

Use Quality Assurance principles, investigative and analytical methods to determine problem areas, and investigate in-process procedures for subordinates.

Occasional travel - Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:?Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance as a condition of employment.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work is primarily performed sitting at a desk although it may involve some walking to attend meetings or conduct site visits at other offices and worksites.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is primarily performed in an office setting with adequate lighting, heat and ventilation. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must be at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is described as experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling or maintaining the quality of products of services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production in the area of aircraft, aircraft engines, and wide and varied types of conventional and non-conventional accessories, and components to include ground servicing, armament, and airborne support equipment. Examples include in related areas are Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements; Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans; Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system; Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance; Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action; Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods; Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities; and Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.) Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines.

2.) Ability to analyze problems and to develop timely and economical solutions.

3.) Ability to accomplish programing, determine resources, and perform long-range planning.

4.) Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, instructions, regulations, and procedures.
