This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1660000 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing,Air National Guard.

NOTE: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.

NOTE: PCS is not authorized.

NOTE: Must posses a valid driver's license.

NOTE: Must have F-16 Intelligence Formal Training Unit (IFTU) completed.

NOTE: Must have Patriot Excalibur (PEX) Admin experience.

Individual selected will receive an Indefinite appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.

INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-11, this position is located at the 162d Wing Tucson, Arizona. The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning, aircrew briefings and debriefings. Trainer and task certifier for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and GI&S support. In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of all pertinent threat weapons systems and geopolitical conditions that could impact the unit's mission success. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.

National Guard Membership is required.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.


You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

1. Ability to assist the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.

2. Ability to represent the unit and the Intelligence section in making agreements and commitments within the scope of his/her assigned functional area of expertise; ability to provide guidance and assistance to unit and Gaining Command Intelligence specialists and serve to coordinate on projects jointly undertaken by the unit, Gaining Command, and other organizations.

3. Ability to coordinate training requirements with Gaining Command Intelligence Section; plan and develop objectives and work schedules for training assigned intelligence personnel during Unit Training Assemblies (UTA), Annual Training (AT), and unit deployments.

4. Ability to perform assigned operational intelligence research and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develop and project data and draw meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.
