This position is in the Mental Health and Behavioral Service Line, Salisbury VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. The primary duties of the position are to perform administrative and technical support work for the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL).

Responsibilities
The management of the MHSL consult tracking data and program clinic profiles is extremely important to the Service Line at the VISN and national levels in meeting or exceeding Advanced Clinic Access performance measures for the medical center. Proper configuration of clinic profiles in the Medical Center computer system has direct effect on scheduling, patient flow and processes within individual clinics, on how workload is captured, and on the effective reimbursement of Medical Care Cost Recovery (MCCR) funds.
Major Duties
Manage the MHSL consult tracking.
*Develop and implement MHSL Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) templates for the enhancement of specialty care progress notes and/or consults.
*Develop plans, goals and objectives for long-range implementation and administration of MHSL programs.
*Serves on and attend meetings of Medical Center committees related to clinical access and associated performance measures (such as SAIL, HIMS, DSS, IMC, QSV, etc).
*Monitor and maintain provider profiles, monitoring panel sizes, oversees and corrects transmissions errors and reviews/rectifies incorrect patient assignments.
*Input and manage PCMM team and position set up for all MHSL programs and services.
*Provide the MHSL Administrative Officer and Chief of Service with weekly consult tracking reports and coordinates the information to providers for appropriate action.
*Carry out assignments that improve the reliability and accuracy of information in the consult tracking database such as retrieving information and matching against computerized data.
*Program's system in regard to consults and patient wait times by informing the clinical personnel that action needs to be taken.
*Applies administrative policy, practices and procedures within the MHSL and Health Care Centers (HCC) to identify, consider, and resolve issues.
*Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents data to the MHSL Chief and MHSL AO regarding the consult-tracking package.
*Establish and manage clinic profiles for MHSL specialty clinics.
*Provide training as it relates to the scheduling package and the use of next available appointment to staff.
And other duties assigned by MHSL Leadership Team.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/31/2018.
Time-In-Grade Requirement
: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
* Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. OR,
* Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related OR
