Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! This position is located at SEMPER FIT AND ADMIN OFFICE. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a MAINTENANCE WORKER for MCCS.

Performs work in at least two of the following trades in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.

Perform general maintenance, repair and/or alterations to such items as: doors, floors, floor covering, walls, ceiling, windows, electrical switches, receptacles and light fixtures, commodes, wash basins, showers, maintain grounds, parking lot, and car wash. Perform repair of recreation/mess equipment and appliances and other related maintenance and/or custodial duties. Performs simple plumbing repairs, replacing faucets or washers; repairing toilet flushing devices; clearing clogged drains, and tightening leaking pipe joints. May assist in the performance of minor electrical repairs to switches and boxes, and replace electric lights, fuses and fixtures. Maybe required to do recycling/disposal metals and hazardous waste disposal.

Observe required safety, sanitation, recycling/disposal metals and hazardous waste disposal rules and regulations. Operate vehicles to transport tools and materials to work site. Must be able to get certified and maintain certification for driving fork lift.

Provide World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assist customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Check for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adhere to safety regulations and standards. Use required safety equipment, and observe safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Must have at least two years experience as maintenance work, high school diploma or equivalent and must possess valid driver's license. Basic knowledge of trade practices sufficient to complete simple tasks using common skills. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry tools and equipment, power tools, hands tools and ground maintenance tools. Familiarity with safe use of common hand and powered tools.

Ability to operate and maintain machines. Knowledge of common cleaning materials and ability to use and store them safely. Performs simple tasks independently after receiving detailed instructions. Requires prolonged standing, stopping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Work is performed both inside and outside, and is exposed to dirt, paint vapors and fumes, possible electrical shock, scrapes, burns and cuts. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Strong attention for detail. High observation and good time management skills.
