This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), Position Description Number D1623000 / D1622000and is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, National Guard.
This a Career Ladder position for a GS-07/09. This advertisement is written for the GS-07 level. Your qualifications for the GS-07 and/or GS-09 will be determined by your resume and questionnaire responses.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0203/0201-7/9, you will:
Provides technical assistance to all reporting officials. Quality reviews reports for compliance with current directives and standards.
Ensures accuracy of information input in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), and the Real Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
Authenticates prior and non-prior service enlistments, and prepares and processes enlistment and appointment documents.
Performs personnel relocation actions pertaining to voluntary and involuntary reassignments, separations, retirements, conditional release programs, separations based upon Medical Evaluation Board/disability separations and retirements, Stop Loss waiver requests, Selective Retention separations, and inter and intra service transfers.
Provides input in development of plans for administration of contingencies and mobilization, maintaining accountability for all assigned deployed personnel, and Partial Mobilization (PM) management of activation orders in the event of Presidential Reserve Call Up (PRC), and in coordinating with wing Plans Office to support all unit deployments and wartime tasking.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Air National Guard Membership is required.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E3 thru E7
Compatible Military Assignments: 3S0X1, 3S2X1
MILITARY SPECIALTY REQUIREMENTS: Individuals must meet the qualifications for the technician position but will have 1 year from date of hire to be assigned to a compatible MOS/AFSC in a compatible unit for the technician position advertised.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
After appointment, reassignment, change to lower grade or promotion through an Indiana job vacancy announcement, an employee must wait at least 18 months before applying for another technician position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
GS-07 - Must have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience performing personnel transactions. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.
Substitution of Education for specialized experience - One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year of academic study is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
